I am a student of the school of Higher Learning and must say I am more than pleased with my educational achievements and so is the DoD organization I am professionally associated with. Can you sort fact from fiction? I would like to note that some of Grantham's advanced courses (physics, trig, calculus) are not something that anyone should take online (Unless, you have clear concepts of advance mathematics). Once that happens, they won't be eligible for military money.
you can get that same price from other regionally acc colleges...UOP, Excelsior, GWU, Penn State online, Central Texas..etc...etc..and these schools are well known. The schools unfortunately are given enough lattitude to make transfer credit decisions on their own.
Any national accredited school should be looked at as a waste of time and money. I'm not that happy of a camper right now. I believe that they are moving in the right direction with all of the changes online. If given multiple choices Grantham would be one of my top picks to include, Troy, Florida-Northwestern or Strayer University. Marywood University (Scranton, PA) This is what you are paying for. Other schools will tell you that they will not accept Grantham credits. I received my commission in the U.S. Army four years ago, and he only degree I had was from Grantham. I can appreciate that a DETC school is good for working adults that can not go "traditional" schools.

As indicated by someone above, the HETA agreement has resulted in over 200 regionally accredited colleges and universities that will accept DETC accredited institutions' credits for transfer and their bachelors degrees as a basis for enrolling for masters degree programs. The problem with Grantham is, once again, how for-profit schools operate. Because online students don’t have an instructor to constantly pester them about assignments not being done on time. The classes are very informative and the work load is not as bad as I thought it would be. This is the top clue if a university is a good fit for military personnel: If a university can't tell you how many credits up front they will take into one of their programs they might not be likely to take any of your military credits if so very few. The target military personnel for their government money to use towards their degrees.

By the DOE's definition, Grantham University isn't a diploma mill. Prior to this, things ran so smooth. Don’t click on those slick Ads! We mentioned accreditation earlier. I too have had problems with Grantham. I have two degrees...of which I finished while working full time, with a family. Consumers love to do business with someone that can admit mistakes and state how they made improvements. Great!, we have all these TAs but I have 30 voicemails full of pissed off ignored students. What the BBB has done to consumers for over 100 years is one of the many reasons why Ripoff Report was created. I had spent three years in the Army by time I decided to go back to school originally, and the caliber of people going turned me off to the point that I didnt decide to go to school again until 6 years later.

As far as the validity and worth of a Grantham degree....If you do start at Grantham and graduate, your degree is just as valid as if it were to come from any other college. Thank god I have not finished my bachelors and can have transferred to a new university and TA is still available for me.

The staff is horrible, upper management is even worse. They are trying to force me to take more courses by erroneously awarding me an associates degree for which I never applied. I am currently working on my Bachelors degree with 4 more classes left, I have been taking classes over a year with no problems.
